What is targeted marketing?

Let's look at this question from the consumer's point of view. You open your local newspaper and you see page after page of advertising-everything from clothing to new and used autos, bird baths to tattoo parlors. But you skim over every ad because you simply aren't interested in any of these offerings, even though someone paid good money to have the ad created and placed in your newspaper.

Now what if you were somehow able to tell your local paper that you were thinking about remodeling your kitchen. Your local paper would then look through its list of advertisers and contact all those who might be interested in selling to you their product or service. Of course all would jump at the opportunity because they'd know that you had at least some interest in kitchens and that interest was likely to grow. They'd want to get their names in front of you quickly and keep them there for as long as possible.

So when you open tomorrow's newspaper, you'll see an ad from your local cabinet shop. They want to remodel your kitchen for you. You'll see an ad from your local banker who wants to give you a home equity loan so you can afford to remodel your kitchen. Your local book store has placed an ad for do-it-yourself books and video tapes, in the hopes that you'll want to save some money. And of course your local hardware store has all the latest tools and other gadgets to make the job go smoothly.

And as you go through your newspaper, page by page, you'll see even more ads tailored to your specific needs.

Is the targeting really that specific?

Generally speaking, yes. If you are an animal lover who is thinking of remodeling your kitchen, you may see and ad for dog food. No one wants your puppy to go hungry. But if you are a male animal lover thinking of remodeling your kitchen, chances are pretty good you won't be seeing any ads for lipstick.

How will my conversion rates improve?

Honestly, that's a tough one to answer. Much will depend on how well you sell yourself. If we go back to our newspaper scenario, that person wants a new kitchen. If you were the cabinet shop, you'd have to convince your prospect that having you do the work is the best way to go. The newspaper delivered your ad to the best qualified prospect, but it can't close the sale for you. Neither can iWebTraffic.

Where do you find the people that will visit my site?

We know people in high places. No, seriously, iWebTraffic has working agreements with many large advertising networks. These folks will place your ad on the sites they control that are related to your business. If you've ever gotten a sales lead from a friend or a friend of a friend, then you've got a pretty good idea of how this works.

How will I know if I received all the visitors you promised me?

iWebTraffic offers free real-time statistics tracking. So instead of spending $9 for a movie ticket this weekend, stay home and watch all the people rushing to your site as they actually rush to your site. We've heard that some people find this very entertaining, though we don't suggest you do it for any length of time.

We also recommend you take a look at your own raw server logs to accurately track the amount if visitors we have delivered. If you don't know how to do this, ask your host provider for assistance. Some hosts even use special software to take what can be a dizzying array of raw statistics and transform them into something everyone can understand.

When will I see targeted visitors at my site?

iWebTraffic won't let any grass grow under our feet. You will see results with 24 hours. Are we fast or what!?

Why doesn't my counter match exactly with iWebTraffic's statistics?

If you are talking about those little odometer type counters that roll over every time one of your pages is accessed, well, they are not accurate and we've even heard a rumor that they can be hazardous to your health. Raw server logs are the only accurate means of tracking the amount if visitors we have delivered.

What is a unique visitor?

No matter how many times a single person visits your site in a single day, this all counts as one unique visit and one unique visitor. We want to be really fair to you and we know that sometimes visitors come back to your site because they hit the back button or the refresh button my mistake. You shouldn't have to pay for this.

iWebTraffic doesn't ever want to be accused of sending just a handful of people to your site over and over again every few minutes to rack up the numbers. Our reputation means a lot to us and we jealously guard it by doing what is right.

Is there any other type of visitor?

Yes, If a visitor is not unique, they are considered "raw." Raw visitors can be counted more than once in a 24 hour period.
